Canadian Ambassador to China Visited Wanfeng

On June 10, 2021, CanadianAmbassador to ChinaDominic Barton, Consul General in ShanghaiDave Murphy, Deputy Consul GeneralJean-ChristianBrillant, Counselor Jeffrey Bell, Trade Consul Joselito Sia and Trade Commissioner Sam Kong visited the headquarter of Wanfeng Group.

Ambassador Dominic Barton and his team toured Wanfeng Aircraft plant, Wanfeng Meridian Factory, Wanfeng Science and Technology Museum and Wanfeng General Aviation Airport.They met with Ms. Chen Ailian, Chair of Wanfeng Group and Mr. Chen Bin, Chairof WFAW Group, and exchanged viewson industrial cooperation, talent training, innovation, and cultural integration.

Ambassador Dominic Barton acknowledged the fruitful achievements of Wanfeng in transforming and internationalizing its businesses. He expressed sincere gratitude to Wanfeng for its contribution to Canadian economy by creating jobs, assuming social responsibilities and promoting the development of the aviation industry.

Ambassador Dominic Barton said,“Wanfeng has made an impressive return of its investments in Canada and created a role model for Chinese companies to invest in Canada. Canada’s embassy in China will continue to support Wanfeng'sendeavors to establish Wanfeng’s auto parts plant and Meridian Global R&D Center (GTC) in Canada, and facilitate the Canadian Diamond Aircraft's TC certification in China to allow more Diamond Aircrafts to enter Chinese market quickly. The embassy will further enhance the joint working mechanism among Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, Global Affairs Canada, and Transport Canada to support Wanfeng’s businesses in Canada.  He hoped that the two sides would deepen cooperation to reach win-win results, and join hands to promote high-quality advancement of China-Canada’s general aviation industry and enhance friendship between peoples of the two countries.”
