The 13th National People’s Congress
has held in Beijing from March 5 to March 11. Ms.Chen Ailian, a delegate of the
13th National People’s Congress and Chairman of BOD in Wanfeng Group, submitted
ten high-quality proposals and suggestions to the National People’s Congress,
covering topics law, industry, and welfare.
In the proposal of “Accelerating the
Application of Magnesium Alloy Industry in Automotive Lightweight”, Ms. Chen
said that global warming poses threats to humans and the earth. As a result,
the world is gradually forming a consensus on the seriousness of global
warming, and many countries hold carbon peaks and neutrality as a national
strategy. Therefore, automotive lightweight has become a vital breakthrough for
automotive firms. Compared with other metals, magnesium alloy is the best
choice for lightweight. Firstly, the reserves of magnesium in China are
abundant. Besides, magnesium has naturally lightweight properties. Its density
is 2/3 of aluminum, and the stiffness and strength are higher than steel and
aluminum. Another superiority is magnesium’s recyclability. The “Energy Saving and
New Energy Vehicle Technology Roadmap” indicates magnesium is one of the third
largest lightweight materials.
However, the application of
magnesium alloy in the automotive industry in China lags behind overseas
counterparts, mainly due to the bottleneck of magnesium alloy production
technology, incomplete standardization system of magnesium alloy material and
its application, and insufficient scientific research management system. In
response to these difficulties, Ms. Chen strongly recommended building a
standardized magnesium alloy lightweight system and setting up an alliance
related to magnesium alloy industrialization promotion. Through the joint
action of industry, academia, and research and development, promote the
application of magnesium alloy. In addition, the government should increase the
investment in scientific research of magnesium alloy lightweight, focusing on
magnesium alloy materials preparation and testing equipment independent
development and use.
As for the proposal of
“Accelerating the Development of Aero Engine Industry”, Ms. Chen suggested
should list aero engines as a core national strength technology. The government
should formulate a long-term development plan, accelerating the development of
the aero engines industry as a major national science and technology special
project and increasing investment. Meanwhile, should separate aero-engine
development from specific civil and aircraft development projects, due
to the difficulty and long period of aero-engine development. The authority
should take the lead in formulating a detailed and specialized long-term plan
for aero-engine R&D and maintain policy continuity to give long-term and
stable support to the aero-engine industry.
