SINGAPORE
Sep 30, 2021 (China Knowledge) The 13th China International Aviation &
Aerospace Exhibition was grandly opened at Zhuhai, Guangdong on Monday. Six
general aviation aircraft including the Diamond DA20, DA40, DA42, DA50, DA62,
and HEMEP under Wanfeng Aircraft Industry, a subsidiary of Wanfeng Aowei
(002085), were exhibited at the Zhuhai Airshow.
This is the debut for Diamond HEMEP Multi-engine Hybrid Electric Aircraft in China. Pilots can choose pure electric mode, cruise mode and charging mode according to their needs. As the world's first multi-engine hybrid aircraft, HEMEP is a major technological achievement made by Wanfeng Diamond Aircraft, showcasing its powerful design and R&D capabilities.
"Letting general aircraft become people's future mobility mode is Wanfeng’s original intention to enter the general aviation industry." Wanfeng Aowei 's Chairman Chen Bin emphasized, "The successful development of multi-engine hybrid aircraft is a milestone for the sustainability of GA industry. It will effectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution, eliminating the negative impact on environment during flight. In addition, hybrid aircraft is quieter and more efficient, with lower costs on flying and maintenance”.
DA50 is exhibited for the first time as well, which is the newest member of the Diamond family. The aircraft is equipped with advanced avionics system, autopilot and deicing equipment. It can take-off and land in a short distance, featured by faster climb speed, higher maneuverability, safety and reliability.
At the investors’ gala, Liu Jianping, chairman of Wanfeng Aircraft Industry, introduced to investors Wanfeng's GA business. Liu said the next ten years will be the golden decade of China's general aviation industry. The low-altitude airspace reform and a series of newly released national policies indicate the GA industry will usher in a fast lane. At the forefront of the industry, Wanfeng has confidence to unleash its potential.
During the airshow, Chaoyang General Aviation and Zhejiang Wanfeng Aircraft Manufacturing signed an agreement of intent to purchase Diamond aircraft.
